Technique: An incision within the natural crease of the upper eyelid allows access to remove excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue. Using an incision inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival), fat is removed or redistributed and muscle is modified to correct a baggy lower lid. An incision just below the lower lash line allows excess to be removed. Generally performed as an out patient procedure under local anaesthesia with sedation; general anaesthesia may be recommended. Complements: Face lift and skin resurfacing are procedures usually performed for betterment of overall appearance.
Results: Bruising subsides in 5-10 days, swelling subsides in 2-4 weeks. Swelling dissipates and final results appear in 1-2 months. Incision lines continue to fade till 1 year.
